Preschool - Meet the Teacher Night

Tonight was meet the teacher night at the girls preschool. When I arrived home from work, I changed into some nice jeans and a plain t-shirt. Then I walked into the girls bedroom where they were taking a nap. I woke them up asking if they wanted to go to school. I don't think I have ever seen them jump out of bed so quick. In a matter of 10 minutes. We had their hair brushed and pulled back and their shoes on. We quickly loaded up the van and went into the church/preschool.

I watched them walking up to the door thinking about the times when they were in the NICU and seemingly like they were all barely hanging on. How could these tiny girls who grabbed on to my pinky now be so big and anxious to grow up. I know this is the first step to independence. I don't think that I am ready for it, but I know they are. Soon my little girls will be going to elementry school, then high school, then on to dating and graduating and moving on with their lives. It is the natural order to life.

Anyway, they are excited and loved playing with the toys and meeting their teachers. Though, they are still a little shy. The teachers were so excited as well, as this is the first set of triplets to walk through their doors. Apparently, they were all hoping to get the girls in their class. The ones that did, said they started doing the happy dance and bragging from that moment on.

The primary teacher has 3 children that I believe she said had ADD another one that had learning disabilities. Being that we feel that the girls may be a little behind other girls, I believe that the girls will benefit from her being their teacher.

We are a little concerned about the nut allergy and undiagnosed asthma that Alexa has. We asked the doctor for an extra set of EPIPENS to keep at the school. Now, we just have to figure out what we are going to do about the breathing treatment. We have a nebulizer that we keep at home, and a portable one that we keep with us in the former diaper bag.

September 2nd will be their first day of school. It will only be about 2 hours a day for 4 days a week.

  1. I have the same feelings about my kids growing up. So bittersweet! I know they will love school though!

  2. That is so sweet. I know the feeling, of seeing them as tiny as the palm of your hand just yesterday, and today they are ready to just grow! I am both happy and sad for you...LOL! I wish them the very best school experience! Education is the key to their future, and they hold it in their hands as of today. Good luck girls, grow, learn, and thrive!
